Apple announces Mac OS X Leopard

Apple released some new information during its WWDC 2007 earlier this week and one of the most important was the official announcement of the next version of Mac OS X. Apple Mac OS X Leopard is the name of the next generation operating system for the Mac and according to Apple, the final launch will be in October. Apple has launched its Leopard site, where it has unveiled ten or so of the 300 updates that there will be with the coming operating system Some of the news include a new desktop, which has both been updated graphically, but also feature-wise. Among them we have the feature Stacks, which simply is a “folder” that stacks files and folder on the desktop.

Apple has also updated Finder with Cover Flow. Apple now compares Finder to iTunes and claims that it will be just as easy to browse your files as browsing your songs in iTunes. Cover Flow simply mimics the Album browsing feature of iTunes.
