We recently reported about how Sony’s president denied the rumors of a possible price cut, but now Sony has turned around and contradicted the previous statement. Sony will indeed lower the price of PlayStation 3 60GB with $100, down to $499. At the same time it will launch a “new” console with a bigger harddrive at 80GB and the new console will also include the game MotorStorm. This version will then cost $599, the same as the old one cost before the cut. Both the price cut and the 80GB version is North American foremost and whether this new price and console will come to Europe remains to be seen though.
