The end of July is nearing and as it should, ATI has released its seventh revision of Catalyst, version 7.7. There is a lot of talk going around how good the new cards from ATi really are and how much you can expect from future driver updates. Revision 7.7 doesn’t seem to be the update many have been hoping for if we’re to believe Tweak Town’s performance analysis of these drivers, where they compare them to the previous v7.6. They chose not to test Far Cry which is the game that ATi has focused the most on. Although that’s far from all that has been updated with the new drivers but also some goodies that are not directly performance related. There’s more information over at AMDZone.
