Shuttle has announced its latest XPC barebone and its is based on the Intel P35 chipset; Shuttle XPC Barebone SP35P2 Pro. This new XPC has designed for the users that has high demands on the system performance, and supports the future 45nm processors from Intel. XPC Barebone SP35P2 Pro comes with four DIMM slots with support for DDR2-800, four SATA ports with RAID support and two eSATA ports. It also has a new mini card slot for the Intel Turbo Memory technology. The case is made from aluminum and is a part of Shuttle’s Prima Series, which means that it focuses on performance.
XPC Barebone SP35P2 sports a PCIe x16 slot for support for the latest generation of video cards from both ATI and NVIDIA. To make sure these and the rest of the components run at decent temperatures, Shuttle has taken the ICE2 Heatpipe cooling one step further. It now also includes the northbridge, southbridge and MOSFETs in its cooling, along with a separate OASIS heatpipe for cooling other important components.
The 400 W power supply is of the latest generation with an 80 plus efficiency. On the front you will also find an LCD that shows various system information (hidden). For extra security Shuttle has integrated a fingerprint reader, but you don’t have to use it if you don’t want to.
“The Shuttle XPC Barebone SP35P2 Pro slots seamlessly into Shuttle’s team of exceptionally high performance small form factor PCs,” explains Tom Seiffert, Head of Marketing & PR at Shuttle Computer Handels GmbH. “With the ending ‘PRO’ comes a SFF PC barebone offering a rich equipment package previously not featured in the high performance segment of our product range.”
