Overlocker and cooling designer MickeyMouse has had a run for the 3DMark 05 record, and succeeded. Using an Intel Core 2 Duo E6850. that has been proven to overclock well, he managed to push his Radeon HD 2900 XT CrossFire system to 34,792 points. The processor was overclocked to 5,190 MHz with some help from Sir Liquid Nitrogen, while the cards didn’t need more cooling than “just” dry ice. He managed to reach these scores after switching to DDR3 memories, which in turn was running at 923 MHz with 7-6-5-15 timings.
He is currently aiming for 35,000, but so far we haven’t heard of any more achievements. He did set a new single-card world record with 31,492 points just recently, and with X38 around the corner 35,000 will be reached, eventually. If not by MM, by someone else.
