Samsung is a world leading developer of LCD monitors and TVs, and at the end of the week it will launch a couple of new monitors in Japan. One of them is a 40″ LCD TV, which despite its big format is surprisingly thin. The monitor is only 1 cm thin (2/5″) and the frame has been slimmed down to 14.6 mm (3/5″) from the regular 30 mm (1 1/5″). The power consumption has been reduced to 90 watt through the use of LED backlighting for the panel. More information on Samsung’s new and superslim 40″ TV and other additions will most likely appear closer to the end of the week.
