I received an e-mail from MSI about some tests they had been doing with the upcoming 790FX board and I was rather impressed by the content. It seems that they had able to reach a quite impressive FSB of 510 MHz using nothing but air cooling. The processor in question was an AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ with the multiplier had been lowered to x5 and the HTT divider to x1. The ATI/AMD engineers seem to have done a great job with this upcoming chipset and with the CrossFire X support it is really starting to look like a good platform. Now all we need is Phenom and Radeon HD 3870, which are both slated for arrival around mid and late November.
