NVIDIA is riding a wave of success and its GeForce 8 series has been sitting comfortably on the performance throne for some time. NVIDIA has now chosen to expand the GeForce 8 series with a new high-end chip for the mobile market. GeForce 8800M GTX is the name of the new mobile flagship, but there’s also 8800M GTS. The GTX model has 96 shader processors, while GTS has to settle for 64 shaders, other than that the features are quite similar with DX10, PureVideo HD and various power saving functions not available with the desktop equivalents.
NVIDIA’s new circuits will appear in laptops near you soon and even if they will be expensive, there’s performance to match.
