ASUS recently announced its future venture for laptops and the news are good, if you’re working for Intel, not so good if you’re employed by AMD. ASUS is planning to equip up to 90 % of its laptops with Intel’s Santa Rosa and Montevina platforms, while the portion of AMD-based laptops will be reduced from 30 % to 10 %. Market analysts are now saying that AMD may have to settle for as little as 12-13% of the laptop market next year, which correlates with ASUS’ actions. The motherboard giant is aiming to become one of the biggest laptop manufacturers in the world and right now the goal is set for top three in 2013.
