GeForce 8800 GTS is suppose to be silently upgraded to the G92 core soon. The upgrade will not be touted by NVIDIA in any way, as it will leave this to the partners to do their own marketing. A sample of this card has ended up in the hands of the people over at TweakTown, who decided to test the card and compare it to the just released GeForce 8800 GT, the older 8800 GTS, and the two ATI cards Radeon 3870 and 2900 XT. The new 8800 GTS comes with a core clocked at 650 MHz, shaders clocked at 1625 MHz and GDDR3 memory clocked at 1940 MHz, and with a slightly narrower bus of 256 bits. The performance is top notch though and on December 11 we will know if there will be cards to go around or if it will be 8800 GT all over again.
