Stories are going around saying AMD is trying to convince partners to lower prices of the Radeon HD 3800 series by around $20. This should push Radeon HD 3850 prices down to $159 and 3870 prices to $199, improving the bang for buck ratio even further. Even though NVIDIA is currently outperforming both of these with its GeForce 8800 GT, have a short supply of chips and is about to update the cooler of the card, a story over at DigiTimes says that NVIDIA is also considering lowering the price of the GeForce 8800 GT. In any case, some prices are about to drop soon.
