Intel Core 2 Q9300 is expected to become the new entry chip of Intel’s quad-core lineup. It runs at 2.5GHz (7.5×333) and sports 6MB L2 cache. German site PCGameshardware.de has published benchmarks with an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 processor (C0 stepping, ES). They’ve compared it to the current quad-core processors from both Intel and AMD, and we can see the same trend here as in the QX6850 vs. QX9650 reviews on the web. It’s slightly faster than a 65nm equivalent, but most of all it runs cooler. Benchmarks, overclocking results and CPU-Z screenshot can be found over at PCGameshardware.de.
