Scythe Zipang is the latest creation from the cooling manufacturer who made a reputation with the Ninja series. Just like the Ninja, Zipang is a high-end air cooler. Scythe’s new cooler uses a new heatpipe design called Uneven Parallel Heatpipe Construction (UPHC) which transfers the heat to both the top and bottom of the heatsink to maximize cooling efficiency. It also has a massive 140mm fan and, according to Scythe, the Zipang cooler is the first of its kind to use such a large fan. The large fan will maximize cooling with the least possible noise.
The MSRP is $58 and already the first review of the cooler has been published. The people at VR–Zone.com got their hands on one of the first samples and came to the conclusion that, while it is a good cooler, a slightly faster fan would’ve been an improvement without increasing the noise to any noticeable degree.
