There is a whole range of graphics cards coming, and it wasn’t long ago AMD launched Radeon HD 3870 X2. NVIDIA is trying to work out the last few bugs before the launch of the GeForce 9 series, but so far it’s the old and proven platforms that are prefered among extreme overclockers and enthusiasts. MemoryExtreme Team ITALY has namely taken two new 3DMark world records and the system in question used two Radeon HD 2900 XT graphics cards. The exact specifications are as follows;
:: Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9650 @ 5800MHz
:: ASUS P5E3 WS
:: 2 x 1024 Cellshock DDR3 1800
:: 2 x Radeon HD 2900XT 1250MHz/1880MHz
:: Ultra X3 1600W power supply
:: CPU pot MM rev3
:: GPU pot Tek 9 3.0
:: 80 liters of liquid nitrogen
This was enough for them to bring home both the 3DMark 05 and 3Dmark 06 title and the question is for how long it will stand. Will it be the next generation is coming this summer, or the updated GeForce 9 series?
3DMark06 – 30,662 points (ORB)
3DMark05 – 39,133 points (ORB)
We’re also curious to see who will be the first to break 40,000 in 3DMark 05 and 31,000 in 3DMark 06.
