MSI’s new ecolution concept is certainly a step toward greener computing and admirable in every way. One of its first innovations employs the classic Stirling engine theory. Basically, MSI uses the heat coming off the chipset to power a fan that then cools the heatsink that cools the chipset. A simple concept, but the question is if it’s effective. The first board to deploy the new “perpetual” cooler will be an NVIDIA-based motherboard, which really shows that MSI has great faith in the cooler, perhaps too much?
