After hearing about the debacle with GeForce 9800GX2 being shown at CeBIT, against NVIDIA’s will, we can’t help seeing some parallels to the story of NVIDIA contemplating to cut several AIC partners. The reason is suppose to be lower than expected orders for cards and GPUs, but we wouldn’t be surprised if there’s more than one reason (hint: above). The partners in question are small though, and this could mean that we will see a new wave of Radeon cards instead.
