ASUS has launched a sibling for its critically acclaimed Xonar D2X sound card. Xonar DX is a stripped-down version of the D2X model, but most importantly; it’s sold at half the price. Over at TechReport they’ve taken a closer look at ASUS’ new Xonar sound card and as most of the base components are still the same as with the more expensive sibling, the card offers the same good audio quality and performance. Sure, no extra features such as DTS Interactive encoding, additional cables and other goodies, but since it only costs $90 it looks like a really good alternative to Creative’s X-Fi series.
