NVIDIA Hybrid SLI is a key component of some current and most future NVIDIA platforms. Hybrid SLI consists of two major parts; Hybrid Boost and Hybrid Power. Hybrid Boost is when you pair the integrated GPU on the motherboard with a discrete graphics card, and they share the workload. Hybrid Power makes it possible to shut down the discrete graphics to save power when it’s not needed. Over at nV News they’ve posted a short Q&A with Tom Petersen, Director of Technical Marketing, which gives a thorough explanation of the technology.
