ASUS Eee PC 900 – Eee goes 8.9 inches

ASUS has announced a new model of the Eee PC series, the 900 model. After selling more than 1 million Eee PCs in just five months, ASUS feels confident that the market will just keep growing. The new Eee PC 900 sports and 8.9″ 1024×600 display, 1.3 MPixel webcam, FingerGlide trackpad, and 12GB and 20GB for Windows and Linux configurations respectively. The storage is split between the built-in 4GB flash storage and an SSD; 8GB with the Windows version and 16GB with the Linux version. It has the same Celeron M 900MHz processor under the hood.



“Due to its lightweight stature, most users will place the Eee PC on their laps or hold them in their hands during use. With the addition of the FingerGlide feature, users will find it even more convenient to use the Eee PC.” /…/ “Vital feedback from a wide variety of users have been received, which has spurred us on to create more options to cater to different user requirements.” said Jerry Shen, CEO of ASUS.


Beside the previous mentioned specifications, Eee PC 900 sports 1GB DDR2 RAM, Intel UMA graphics, built-in speakers, HD audio, 802.11b/g, 10/100mbit Ethernet, 3xUSB and VGA-out.


Despite the larger display, Eee PC 900 is not much larger than its older sibling; 22.5cm(W) x 17.0cm(D) x 2cm~3.38cm(H). It weighs a mere 990 grams. It’s available in Black and Pearl White.
