GeForce 9800GT is one of the cards that appeared in the buzz quite a long time ago, but while the remaining members of the GeForce 9 family have been launched, or upgraded from the GeForce 8 series, GeForce 9800GT has remained a mere name. The rumors were that the card would, just like so many other cards of the GeForce 9 series, be the same GPU as of the 8 series, but that it would get a new PCB and thus access to the few and new GeForce 9 series features. Graphics card manufacturer Elsa has now confirmed this by putting the Gladiac 980GT 1GB3 DHT on display at Computex.
The card has 112 shader processors, 630MHz core clock and 1800MHz memory clock. This is slightly higher than the reference GeForce 8800GT clocks, but there is no way of telling if Elsa’s card is factory-overclocked or not. The non-reference cooler might be a sign for that it is indeed overclocked. Last we heard, GeForce 9800GT is due sometime next month.
