Apples iPhone 3G has been on the market for about a week now and most of you have most likely seen or read at least a few reviews, if you have any interest in this. Apple has made some changes to the hardware since the iPhone 2G, but there are also software news in the latest firmware 2.0 update. Over at Anandtech, Anand himself has decided to publish what has to be the most extensive review of iPhone 3G so far.
No stone is left unturned and he walks you through the changes Apple has made in the hardware, which includes battery life tests, web browsing through the new 3G support and a closer look at the A-GPS feature.
It doesn’t stop there though, but the 24 page review continues by investigating what made the first version of iPhone such a success, the software. He also digs deeper into how Apple’s pricing works, through its operators, and its not really half the price of the first version, it’s actually a lot more expensive than the original.
“For someone who has never owned an iPhone, the iPhone 3G is really no worse and marginally better than the original, which continues to be the best consumer smartphone available in my opinion. The user interface remains the pinnacle of ease of use and speed, making all other phones look and feel old by comparison.”
