Dell Inspiron 910 looks to be the next little thing to enter the netbook market. There have been reports of Dell’s mini-laptop for several months, but it may very well be that the launch will happen sometime this week. Dell Inspiron 910 is based on Intel’s Atom platform and houses an Atom 230 processor at 1.6GHz, the same processor used by ASUS Eee PC and MSI Wind. The display measures 8.9″ and Dell is expected an SSD option up to 16GB and either Ubuntu Linux or Windows XP for operating system.

On top of that, Inspiron 910 will sport 1GB RAM, three USB 2.0 ports, WiFi and integrated webcam. The weight is said to be around 1kg with a 4-cell battery. The price is of the utmost importance in this segment and Dell with its large quantities should be able to keep the price very competitive. If Dell Inspiron 910 can stand up to the competition in terms of performance it could become an interesting alternative for those hunting netbooks.
