Small preview imageWe broke the news of the start-up company Mionix back in early July. Mionix is a Swedish company developing PC gaming gear. We presented you with information on the first products, the gaming mice Saiph 3200 and Saiph 1800 and the mouse pads Alioth 320 and Alioth 400. The specifications of the two mice looked mighty impressive where the top model had a resolution of 3200dpi, five programmable buttons, an adjustable weight system, 7-step in-game dpi adjustments, Teflon feet and a built-in memory for storing game profiles, Saiph 3200 sure looks like a mouse ready to take on the big players like Logitech, Razer and Microsoft.

“Saiph is the sixth brightest star in the constellation of Orion. Saiph comes from the Arabic word Saif and means sword. It’s destined to collapse someday and turn into a supernova. Stars have always been important to every culture. They have been used in religious practices and for celestial navigation or orientation. As well as certain constellations and even the sun, stars have their own myths and the most prominent individual stars were also given powerful names. That is why we named Mionix gaming-gear after stars so they can symbolize the prominence in the world of gaming.”

Saiph 1800 offers similar features, just less. It has a resolution of 1800dpi, 4-step in-game dpi adjustment, but still Teflon feet and five programmable buttons. Both mice use cutting edge laser technology for the highest precision while gaming and have been ergonomically designed to fit in the hand.

The two mice are just the first step though, Mionix will announce more gaming product in the near future, and in the words of Mionix self, this “marks the entry of MIONIX in the world of E-gaming.”

We hope to test this one in the near future, stay tuned for more news on Mionix and related products.
