Sony Vaio TT is a laptop that can easily be mistaken for just another netbook, if you’re looking at it through a telescope. The only similarity is the slim format. With an 11.1″ display, Vaio TT is an ultraportable laptop with a weight of a mere 1.3kg, but still houses more or less everything you can imagine in terms of features. The netbook market got the name from the minimalistic measurements, but also the hardware that was developed to be cheap and capable of nothing more than regular office work.
Sony Vaio TT is anything but a netbook when you consider the hardware as Sony has really gone all the way with the features. The 11.1″ display comes with XBRITE-DuraView technology for better colors and together with the LED backlighting it should offer an optimal viewing experience. The resolution is relatively high at 1366×768 pixels and one of the reasons for this is that Sony offers an optional Blu-ray burner for the Vaio TT series. Even if this may feel going a bit over the top with an 11.1″ screen it is mighty impressive to fit an optical drive inside this minimal casing. Sony also boasts Vaio TT as the world’s lightest Blu-ray computer.

There is just no holding back anywhere with this laptop. The processor is an Core 2 Duo SU9400 that consumes a maximum of 10W at 1.4GHz. It has been paired with 4GB DDR3 memory, Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics and 128GB SSD for storing data. You can even upgrade your VAIO TT with two 128GB SSDs in RAID 0, once again mighty impressive in an ultraportable computer.
Vaio TT also sports 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth, webcamera, finger print reader, HDMI output and a whole bunch of other goodies.

Sony has done a great job with Vaio TT and the design follows in the footsteps of its elder siblings with clear lines and appealing aesthetics. Vaio TT doesn’t just look expensive, prices start at around $2,000, while the Blu-ray drive will set you back an additional $700 and the SSD another $750. If you want the best, you have to pay and Sony will have many consumers drooling over its latest creation.
