ASUS N10 is the first “netbook” from Taiwanese motherboard giant ASUS outside the Eee PC family. The reason it doesn’t carry the Eee name is rather obvious, ASUS N10 is simply not for the regular netbook users. ASUS has kept the minimal measurements that defines a netbook and with a 10″ display and Intel Atom processor under the hood the base specifications are very much alike. The big difference is the graphics where ASUS has fitted N10 with an external graphics circuits from NVIDIA; GeForce 9300M.
All should know by now that Intel’s 945 graphics core is crap in 3D games and through GeForce 9300M, ASUS N10 should do better in games. Over at Mobile Computer they have tested ASUS’ new netbook and goes as far as calling it a “gaming netbook”, which might be pushing it a bit. The fact remains that it did manage to play Call of Duty 4 with not too shabby results. Clearly shown by the video preview.
With a mere 10″ display and 1024×600 pixel resolution it almost feels like a waste to empower the gaming performance of the computer, but it is still nice to see a netbook offering more than just the bare office PC performance.
