For the first time the aesthetics of a computer has become as important as the content and there is a market extra sensitive to this, the HTPC market. These systems are often placed among other home electronics and such, where a big fulltower will not blend. Many manufacturers have found good solution by making cases with similar traits. These are almost exclusively new designs and those who have a fetish for the old style HiFi products will have a hard time finding a case they like.
Over at HardOCP a user called Slipperyskip has published a builders log of a new miniITX system he gas built for Silverstone. The build will be shown at CES in Las Vegas and is inspired by an old 50’s radio and even if the case has a Silverstone aluminum case as the base, wood is all around.
The result is a very tasteful and minimalistic case that would blend into any living room. Those of you who really appreciate retro designs will certainly like this as it is an impressive and highly detailed build.
