MSI has been working hard on coming up with new ways of improving its popular netbook series Wind. New information has appeared that reveals some of MSI’s plans for the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. Andy Thung from MSI USA has revealed to laptopmag that it will launch two new Wind models at the end of January; Wind U110 and U115 and the perhaps most interesting about them is that the latter model will use both SSD and a mechanical HDD for storage. By turning off the mechanical harddrive the computer will save power and achieve up to 10 hour battery time according to MSI.

He also reveals that MSI will unveil a Wind model with a touch monitor, which was kind of expected since ASUS has been talking loud about the potential of touchscreen panels.

MSI U300 will be a nice addition to the ultramobile market even though it is not a part of the Wind family, but with a 13.3″ display and a slim design and with a competitive price it looks like a possible killer. Thung even claimed that consumers will be “chocked” by this sleek model.

More information on MSI’s plans for the future and the whole interview with Andy Thung can be found over at laptopmag.com.
