Thermalright has taken the concept of its XP-120 cooler to the next level by announcing the AXP-140. The low-profile design remains, but it now has more heatpipes, six all in all, and a bigger heatsink. The total heatsink height is just 70.2mm, which should slide into most available HTPC cases. Being slightly bigger than the older XP-120, AXP-140 accepts both 120mm and 140mm fans. The base is made from pure copper for best possible performance, says Thermalright.

The overall design also improves cooling of mosfets and other components surrounding the socket. It weighs about half of what the TRUE copper weighs, which equals to 900g, and has been designed for Socket 775 motherboards, which is of course a bit disappointing since the AM2+ platform with its AMD790G chipset is quite good for HTPCs. The street price is estimated to around $60.
