Microsoft, like most companies, is feeling the economy going down and that the software giant would revise its company structure and number of employees was hardly surprising. The latest information surrounding Microsoft’s plans for the future indicate that it may terminate a record amount, as early as January 15th. According to this information, Microsoft will terminate up to 15,000, which is about 17% of the entire work force.

Microsoft has 90,000 employees worldwide and if this information turns out to be correct it is especially offices in the Middle East, Europe and Africa that will be axed. Even if there are no details surrounding which departments that will be cut, it looks like MSN is going to take a major hit.

Microsoft has not confirmed anything yet, but it looks pretty clear that there will be terminations starting January 15th, but if there will be as many as 15,000 remains to be seen.
