MSI decided to follow ASUS and announce its Socket AM3 motherboards ahead of time. Even if Phenom II has already been launched it just the DDR2 version with the Socket AM2+ platform. The first Socket AM3 processors are expected to appear in February and MSI has two motherboards, MSI 790FX-GD70 and 790GX-G65. The motherboards are based on AMD’s first AM3 chipsets where 790FX will be the flagship with four PCIe x16 slots, support for 16GB DDR3-1333 and advanced overclocking features. While the 790GX models proudly boosts an integrated Radeon HD 3300 GPU with HDMI output and DirectX10 support.
