From being the unthreatened king of the browsers Microsoft has fallen after a much needed competition from Mozilla, Opera and now even Google. The work of developing a successor to Internet Explorer 7 has been under way for a long time and the first Release Candidate for Internet Explorer 8 is now available for download. The news include Suggested Sites, InPrivate browsing and Accelarators, the latter is an equivalent to Hyperwords and similar addons for Firefox.
Simply a feature that makes it possible to look up a work at Wikipedia, fetch maps, translate texts, etc. As usual Microsoft promises better security with improved protection against phishing attacks and such.
The browser can be downloaded from Microsoft (requires XP with SP2).
