On February 3 Microsoft released a new mandatory update that was to correct the audio problems a few users had been experiencing when using HDMI. As it turns out, for example over at Xbox forum, this update introduced more problems than it solved. The problems are among others the classic ”Red Ring of Death”, but also other problems like freezes and graphics related problems. It’s not certain how spread these problems are, but they do seem more frequent than the fairly rare audio problems.
