ASUS W90 is a notebook that even puts most desktop computers to shame. With a quad-core Core 2 Extreme QX9300 processor at 2.53GHz and not yet launched Mobility Radeon HD 4870X2 there is plenty of performance to go around. But as always there are those who wants more and overclocker profile Marcus “Kinc” Hultin is without a doubt one of them, after his escapades as a writer here at NordicHardware Marcus is now working for ASUS but he still knows how to turn things up a notch.

Marcus has overclocked both processor and graphics cards of ASUS W90. Using the stock cooling (do mind that this is a notebook we’re dealing with!) he overclocked the processor to nearly 4.0GHz and the graphics cards to 600MHz and the graphics memory to 1800MHz. Impressive numbers, almost terrifying numbers for a notebook.

The result was a score of 20,000 points in 3DMark06, something a regular desktop PC will have a hard time to match. Even if ASUS W90 will cost beyond $3,000 it’s still a notebook we’re dealing with.

We’ve gotten some exclusive pictures of the overclock and ASUS W90, which should appear before the end of the month.
