SilverStone Raven is a miditower that may not look that different from most other cases. But when you open it up you realize it’s not quite the same. SilverStone has used a unique case design that turns the motherboard 90 degrees and the expansion slots and I/O ports ends up in the top of the case instead of the back. SilverStone claims that this will make cooling more efficient as heat naturally rises and can now easier be removed from the case and its hot components.
The first case using this unique layout is called Raven RV01 and has been well received by both consumers and reviewers. The reviews that have surfaced so far have been impressed by the cooling potential of the case, but also the low noise and high quality construction.
There are drawbacks though, like a bit too much plastic and an aesthetic design that might not appeal to everyone. But overall SilverStone has done a good job with its Raven case and we can most likely expect more similar cases.
