MSI has revealed the first models of the X-Slim series that will launch in the USA in May. When MSI’s superslim notebooks appears in Europe remains to be seen, but now we at least know the specifications. MSI has released details on the X320 and X340 models both using 13.3″ displays with 1366×768 resolution. The only thing that keeps the two apart is the processor, X320 sports the regular Atom Z530 (1.6GHz) while X340 comes with the all-new Intel ULV SU3500 processor (1.3GHz). Despite the lower clock frequency the latter will be the faster of the two.
The X320 model will get a base price of around $700 and lacks HDMI output compared to X340, but at the same time you can equip X320 with 3G/WiMAX. The fact that both are only 17mm thick is the most appealing feature though.
Below are the complete specifications of MSI’s first X-Slim models where the latter is expected to cost around $1,000.
German hardware site newgadgets.de has published a video where they twist and turn the new MSI X340 laptop, which offers a better overview of the slim design.
