ASUS is usually quick to launch new boards using new chipsets and therefore it comes as no surprised that one of the first motherboards using NVIDIA’s nForce 980a chipset comes from ASUS. ASUS M4N82 DELUXE has been sighted in Japan and even if we don’t know if this product will make it to America and Europe, evidently the first nForce 980a SLI motherboards are ready. We have reported on this news-lacking chipset in the past.
It supports 3-way SLI, 12 USB ports, six SATA ports, 8 channel audio and Gigabit Ethernet. Even though the chipset targets AMD’s AM3 processors with DDR3 memory support, ASUS M4N82 DELUXE only supports DDR2 memory.
There are several signs of attempts to improve the motherboard, including 8+1 fas power supply and heatpipe cooling for the circuits MOSFETs around the board.
Below are a couple of pictures while we wait for the board to appear over here.
