Tegra is, just like the SnapDragon platform, based on the ARM architecture, but unlike Qualcomm NVIDIA isn’t interested in calling its Tegra-based notebooks smartbooks. On the other hand, the term netbook isn’t interesting either and most often NVIDIA refers to Tegra units as MIDs (Mobile Internet Device) and that is exactly what it is showing at Computex.

NVIDIA has displayed a Tegra-based computer with an 8.9″ display and specially designed version of Windows CE offering a hint of the performance available with the Tegra platform.

Mobinova Elan is the name of the computer that, among other things, played a High Definition movie trailer (Cars 720p) with ease. Tegra can also play 1080p movies. If NVIDIA will be able to lure buyers or not remains to be seen, but no matter what there is great potential in Tegra.
