AverLogic is a semiconductor developer working together with many of the big retail electronics companies, like LG, Sony and Panasonic. The company was present at Computex and shown its latest creation that targets PCs and home electronics. It has demonstrated how AverLogic’s image and video technology can stream 1080p High Definition material through the regular power grid.
Just like power grid based network, a technology AverLogic also supports, the video signals are sent through the already available power cables. You can easily transfer HDMI signals several hundred meters, instead of 15-20m with regular cables.
AverLogic claims that it can stream 1920×1080 definition video at 24p with H.264 compression, which will include Blu-ray players, or PC systems. The data bit rate will not surpass 20Mbps though, which is lower than what most Blu-ray movies use.

With a transmitter in the main room you can send out signals to no less than three receivers in different rooms, which sounds like a true dream for those who are unwilling to draw any more cables or use wireless technologies in the home. If and when AverLogic’s technology will find its way out on the market remains to be seen.
