Memory company Lexar will soon announce a new series of Solid State Drives under the Crucial brand. The new M225 series are of the 2.5″ format and enabled by MLC technology it will sport capacities up to 256GB. The top model sports 250MB/s read speed 200MB/s write speed. As with most competing models the numbers deteriorate as the capacity decreases, but they are still impressive compared Crucial’s previous SSDs.
The three new models; 64GB, 128GB and 256GB, all use the SATA II interface. The new storage nits will launch on July 20th, after which we will have some more detailed information on specifications, prices and availability.
