When Intel’s Core i5 platform launches next month it comes with a dual-channel memory controller. The memory controller officially supports DDR3-1333 speeds and memory manufacturers are working hard on new memory kits for the LGA1156 platform. Kingston has presented two new memory kits validated by Intel for the new Core i5 platform. It has developed memory kits for both notebooks and desktops.
Kingston KVR1333D3S9/1G (and 2G) are specified to operate at 1333MHz and the SO-DIMM modules have been tested with Intel’s mobile Clarksfield processor with the P55 Express chipset.
For the desktop market Kingston’s 1333MHz DIMM module comes with the model name KVR1333D3N9/1G. This module has in turn been tested with the Intel P55 Express chipset together with Intel’s Lynnfield processor.
The memory modules are entry level and actually already available. They cost around $25 for the SO-DIMM modules and $15-20 for the DIMM equivalents.
