GEIL has launched four new DDR3 memory kits where it goes entirely green. The new memory modules are part of the GEIL Green series and comes in 1GB and 2GB variants. The four memory kits that have launched are dual-channel kits specified to work at 1066MHz and 1333MHz and either 2GB or 4GB total memory capacity. The Green series of DDR3 modules operate at only 1.3V which is 10-20% lower than JEDEC specifications.
With a low operating voltage, which lower power consumption and heat dissipation, GEIL has been able to skip the heatspreaders which in turns reduce manufacturing costs and metal junk.
As if that wasn’t enough it has made sure to save on paper by using recycled paper for the product packages, something we have seen other manufacturers do too, for example Sapphire.
GeIL DDR3 Green Series, carrying over the same spirit of its’ DDR2 predecessor, is a product with such green concept in mind. It is the first DDR3 green low power working voltage memory in the market. The working voltage of the GeIL Green Series DDR3 memory is 10~20% lower than those of JEDEC standard. The packaging of the Green Series is made of recycled paper pulp, making the product ‘green’ inside and out.
