Acer has launched the new B series of monitors where the letter B is not a reference to the selection, but instead short for Business Series. The monitors target business users and even if this may sound discouraging there are lot of things to appreciate with these two models. Despite the 16:9 format Acer has chosen not to be limited by the 1080p resolution. Since video playback isn’t the top priority of the B series but instead it has focused on workspace and even higher resolution: 2048×1152 pixels.
Acer B233HU bmidhz and B273HU bmidhz measures 23″ and 27″, and thanks to the odd resolution they have a bigger workspace than most of the popular 16:10 monitors with 1920×1200 resolution. With 2048 pixels in width there is room for two 1024×768 documents next to each other, perfect for the business market.
The high resolution is backed up by 40,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, and 5ms response time. The monitors are equipped with HDMI, DVI and VGA inputs and sport relatively low prices; $300 and $530.
