As we informed you earlier, graphics circuit maker AMD showed its next generation of graphics cards at Quakecon. Like previous demonstrations by AMD it released no details though. PC Perspective got a chance to look at AMD’s new Evergreen family, from a distance. At the hotel AMD gave PC Perspective a quick preview of some DirectX 11 demos and regular game test in the form of Wolfenstein (DX9).

It turns out that the hardware can do both regular games and in a DX11 tessellation demo they showed how its second test system could render up to 78 FPS at 2560×1600 pixel resolution, which may very well be with a modified counter though.

AMD did not want to reveal any details and we doubt the FPS counter is correct.

AMD is still silent as the moors when it comes to names and specifications, but by looking through the see-through side-panel they could see that the Evergreen card had a dual-slot cooler and ships with two DisplayPort outputs and one DVI output.
