Microsoft may not be the first name that pops into your head when people throw around words like ”innovation”, ”fresh” and ”exciting”, perhaps we are being a bit hard right now. It has a lot of balls in the air and some are actually quite interesting! Techradar was given a tour of Microsoft’s Research & Development lab in Cambridge, England.
This section of Microsoft works completely without roadmaps, deadlines or demands for profitability but simply to test the limits and come up with new things. This is clearly reflected by the things they have come up with. One thing that stood out (more than the rest) was he Whereabouts Clock.
Those of you have read or seen Harry Potter already know what it does; It not only shows time but also where different persons connected to the clock are located. The users are linked to the clock through their mobile phones that transmits signals when they move in and out of different zones. You can also transmit status updates if you want to tell others what you’re doing.
