DirectX 11 screenshots from S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat

AMD has released a quartet of graphics cards supporting DirectX 11, and Microsoft is paving the way for the new API with its new Windows 7 operating system, and DirectX 11 patch for Vista. The only thing missing is games taking advantage of the new graphical effects made possible by DirectX 11. Some will appear this year and one these will hopefully be S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat. The game has launched in some parts of the world, but the big launch is not expected to happen before next year.

A bunch of screenshots from the game have surfaced and they paint a pretty picture using the effects available with DirectX 11. We get to see whole lot of tessellation with detailed terrain and characters, but also some delightful lighting and shadows.

Hopefully S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat will make it before we enter 2010 since the official launch date for most markets is still set to Q4 2009.
