Dell’s exciting mini-PC Zino HD has now started shipping to customers and the computer that may look a bit like Apple’s Mac mini offers both interesting specifications and some new design choices. Dell has chosen to use the bit odd hardware platform with AMD’s Athlon 2650E CPU and integrated Radeon HD 3200 graphics circuit. Together with 2GB DDR2 RAM and HDMI output it should be capable of handling most video formats, not the least if you choose to upgrade to the optical drive to a Blu-ray player.
As you may have guessed, Zino HD was developed for playing High Definition video material, but thanks to the AMD platform the price is still reasonable. The computer has started shipping in Ireland where the price starts at 329 euro.
For that kind of money you get a single-core Athlon 2650E CPU, 320GB storage, DVD burner, 802.11n Wi-Fi and eSATA-for extended storage. All this and a copy of Windows 7 Home Premium comes in the package.
Except from the Blu-ray player, you can also upgrade to a bigger harddrive, Radeon HD 4330 graphics card, dual-core Athlon processors and up to 8GB RAM, without breaking the slim exterior measuring 197mm (H) x 197mm (B) x 89mm (D). Dell also made sure that Zino HD will fit in any living room through 10 differently colored exchangeable cases.
