The SSD technology is one of the hotter topics around, but there are still companies waiting for the technology to mature and really break through. We have heard Western Digital talking about a retail introduction in 2011 and even if we had our doubts it seems more and more like 2011 will be the year of the Solid State technology (and the Rabbit).

Then, most major NAND flash manufacturers will be switching to the 20 node for its memory production, something that will further reduce costs and contribute to a memorable year for the SSD technology.

During a company retreat in Taipei several major Chinese and Taiwanese manufacturers and companies met to discuss the future of the Solid State technology. They predicted the breakthrough to come in 2011 but also moved suggestions for standardizing SSD specifications in hope of improving quality and overall performance.
