MSI looks to be one the first to give AMD’s Radeon HD 5870 graphics card a serious overhaul and the result will be presented at CES in January. MSI have been working on the Lightning Edition that will use a custom PCB, higher than the original, where the two 6-pin connectors have been swapped for two 8-pin connectors. Something we would like to see with Radeon HD 5970.
MSI have focused on overclocking with this edition of Radeon HD 5870 and we expect it to be overclocked from factory. How much remains to be seen, but with a non-reference cooler there should be room for more in the hands of the enthusiasts.
