Nexus One has been THE phone for December. Search engine giant Google have been sending out branded phones to employees and the rumors surrounding the new Android phone have many. The reason is pretty obvious, Nexus One will be Google’s first “own” Android mobile and the specifications would make it the phone others are made to compare with.
Google’s Android operating system has, together with Apple’s iPhone family more or less killed off the interest in Microsoft’s Windows Mobile platform, even though most of the Android phones available are slipping a bit when it comes to the hardware, and that of course includes the iPhones.

Nexus One on the other hand, if specifications are correct, has potential to beat them all, no matter the platform. Or what would you say about 1GHz ARM Snapdragon CPU, 512MB RAM, 5 Megapixel camera with auto focus and LED flash. All in a slim format sporting 3.7″ AMOLED display (854×480 pixels). The operating system will be version 2.1 of Android.
Even if Google hasn’t confirmed that much surrounding the phone there are plenty of videos and pictures.
Earlier we have heard about a launch on January 5th and now Google has sent out official invitations to a media event on January 5th and in some leaked documents there was a price revealed too, 530 USD for a Nexus One without contract.
This sounds plausible and if true we can only hope that the phone will not be some US-exclusive product. Although HTC Passion may be good enough for the rest of us. If Google decides to present the HTC-made Nexus One on January 5th it would set the bar, up high, for other smartphones in 2010.
