OCZ Technology was quick to adopt the new solid state technology, but now that its plans for 2010 have been unveiled it will be surprisingly careful with jumping on to the SATA 6Gb/s interface. OCZ’s roadmap for 2010 have leaked out on the Internet and by the looks of it we will see a new venture for 3xnm technology in Q1, which should mean lower prices and higher capacities.

At the same time OCZ feels no rush to jump on the SATA 6Gb/s train. In another roadmap focusing on Q1 all we can see are SATA II drives.

This also applies to the new SandForce-based Vertex 2 series that is slated for March. We have known since the first tests that performance will be great enough to hit the roof of the SATA II interface, but we can probably expect SATA 6Gb/s from OCZ later on.

Another interesting fact is that OCZ, despite its new cooperation with SandForce, will continue working with Indilinx. Since its Barefoot controller is still active and the new Amigos circuit is expected in February inside a not yet named series of SSDs.
